Non-Abelian A_4 vortices in SO(3) gauge theory: solutions, fusion rules, and non-invertible symmetries

Description

We study topological vortex solutions in a (3+1)-dimensional $SO(3)$ gauge-Higgs system with a Higgs field in the spin-3 representation. For a renormalizable Higgs potential, $SO(3)$ is Higgsed to the tetrahedral group $A_4$. We explicitly construct finite-tension axisymmetric vortex solutions in this Higgs phase.
We analyze their tensions and show that the vortices exhibit type-I-like, type-II-like, and Bogomolny-type regimes analogous to those of Abelian-Higgs vortices. We further discuss their interpretation as smooth finite-tension UV realizations of the surface operators associated with the non-invertible one-form symmetry of the infrared $A_4$ gauge theory.
