For general participants, please make reservations for your accommodation by yourself unless otherwise informed. For invited participants, YITP will contact you for the details of accommodation.
We note that October-November is the highest tourist season in Kyoto and we recommend that you make the reservations at your earliest convenience. On weekends, and holidays, hotels in the center of Kyoto may be fully booked. If so, please try nearby cities e.g. those in suburban Kyoto, Shiga prefecture, Osaka prefecture, or Nara prefecture.
Accommodation
Kyoto is an international tourist city with a wide variety of hotels. Some convenient areas within walking or bus distance to Kyoto University are:
Kawaramachi, Gion (downtown): about 20 min by bus to the campus, and about 10 min by train to Demachiyanagi Station. Hotels are also within walking distance (about 2-3 km to the campus).
Kyoto station (central station): about 30 min by bus to the campus. Keihan Railway does not stop.
A little bit closer areas include, Kyoto City Center, Nijo, and Karasuma-Oike. You may still need to use a bus to the University.
(The guests at the YITP guest house "Kitashirakawa Gakusha" will be selected by the organizers. Please do not apply for the accommodation at "Kitashirakawa Gakusha" by yourself.)
