On this long-term workshop

In 2007, Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics (YITP) started a new project, "Yukawa International Program of Quark-Hadron Sciences (YIPQS)," funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In this project, YITP hosts two or three long-term workshops each year and invites leading experts to stimulate discussion and to foster collaborations among workshop participants.

This time, we hold "Novel Quantum States in Condensed Matter 2027 (NQS2027)" as a successor to the long-term workshops held under the same title in the past (NQS2011, NQS2014, NQS2017, and NQS2022). Based on this background, we promote research exchange and collaboration in themes related to novel quantum condensed states. In particular, we would like to promote active exchanges between young researchers in related fields and leading researchers by organizing tutorial lectures.

Schedule and Venue

Start: February 8,   Close: March 12

Panasonic Auditorium, Yukawa Hall, Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan

Topics

  1.  Topological phases, including those in non-equilibrium/open/non-Hermitian systems
  2. Quantum geometry and related quantum phenomena
  3. Quantum field-theoretical and/or mathematical methods in condensed matter physics
  4. Novel quantum states in strongly correlated systems
  5. Other recent topics: kagome superconductors, non-reciprocal quantum effects, including superconducting diode effects

Outline

The first week (Feb 8-Feb 13) is a school for young researchers, and the fourth week (Mar 1 -Mar 5) is a conference.
