Description

Resource distillation is the process that extracts pure resource states from the given noisy states, and it is of fundamental importance in numerous quantum information processing tasks. Much work has been devoted to characterizing optimal rates of resource distillation, but these results often rely on a crucial assumption that experimenters know the input state, allowing them to tailor the protocol to the specific input. In this talk, I discuss universal resource distillation, which aims to run the resource distillation without knowledge of the input state, and present recent progress in characterizing its ultimate performance.
