Overview
This workshop aims to understand quantum gravity and quantum entanglement in the expanding de Sitter spacetime. The de Sitter spacetime represents the rapid expansion of the early universe and is an essential topic as it describes our current universe. One of the significant challenges in modern cosmology is understanding the Big Bang singularity and inflation of the early universe. To achieve this, not only do we need to understand quantum gravity in de Sitter spacetime beyond classical gravitational theory, but also a deep understanding of quantum entanglement in de Sitter spacetime, quantum information theory, and condensed matter theory is required. Over the past 25 years, there have been groundbreaking developments in quantum gravity in the Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime based on the holographic correspondence between AdS spacetime with a negative cosmological constant and conformal field theory. In contrast, the understanding of the holographic correspondence in de Sitter spacetime with a positive cosmological constant is still in its infancy. In this workshop, we aim to address the challenges and unresolved issues of de Sitter spacetime by inviting experts in gravitational theory, string theory, field theory, condensed matter theory, quantum information theory, and cosmology.
